Revelation 18:9-10
9 And the kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning. 10 They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say,
“Alas! Alas! You great city,
you mighty city, Babylon!
For in a single hour your judgment has come.”
Just shy of 2 dozen years ago, on September 11, 2001, at 9:03 AM, Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. At 9:59, the tower collapsed. The elapsed time was 56 minutes, less than a single hour, and the smoke of New York City’s burning could be seen from far off, miles away in New Jersey. These verses remind us of that terrible day when the financial capital of the world in the luxurious towers came crashing down. A few days later, a schoolteacher in California burned an American flag in front of 6th graders and shouted, “Babylon is burning!” He was fired.
Come to Cape Community Church tomorrow and see that the events described in this vision are, if it could be imagined, far worse than 9/11. The teacher thought he was clever. On that day, the world will witness the end of the Beast and the vindication of the righteousness, justice, and sovereignty of God. It will be a time of terror and praise because this is the great victory promised in the Scriptures. We are victorious with the returning King if we keep, endure, and are faithful until that day when that single hour is finally here.
O Heavenly Father, your plan is perfect and so is your timing. We say, “Jesus, come soon!”, only because we believe your promise. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
