Revelation 14:6-7
Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. 7 And he said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water.”
On our prayer walks, our opening line is, “Hi, we’re from Cape Community Church and we are praying for people. How can we pray for you?”, or words to that effect. Also, to that effect, our conversation hopefully gets to the point where we, like the angel in verse 6, proclaim an eternal gospel. We long to say, in effect, “Fear God because he is the Judge and the Creator. He is also the Savior and Comforter of those in need”, and we meet so many of those people. In those cases, these words have a great effect indeed.
Come to Cape Community Church tomorrow as we explore the events of the Great Tribulation and how this hope, only found in Jesus Christ, can even be found there. We will see hope in a time of great hopelessness, when people want rocks to fall on them and end their misery. Think of all the people you know who need to hear these words of the gospel. May we be fortified by these words of comfort in tribulation to proclaim the eternal gospel to young and old, rich and poor, indeed, every nation, tribe, language, and people.
O Heavenly Father, you are the light in a dark world, even in the darkest times. May we turn our eyes to the light and see the hope you shine on us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
